LIST OF HONOURS. (BY TELEQItAPJI—PBESB ASSOCIATION—COr-YItlBIIT.) London, April G. Tho Royal Geographical Society's special gold medal has been awarded to Lieutenant Shnckleton, and a silver replien to each of his fourteen companions. Tho society has also made tho following awards :— Founder's Medal.—Dr. M. A. Stein, for explorations in 'Turkestan. Patron's Medal.—Colonel Milo Talbot. Victorian Research Medal.—Professor Agassiz. Tho Murohison Award.—Captain Rawling. Gill Memorial.—Commander Whitehouso Cuthbert. Peek Grant.—Captain Ommancy. Back Bequest.—Lai Singh, a native Indian surveyor. Professor Alex. Agassiz, American zoologist and geologist, was born in Neuchatel (Switzerland) in 1835, and went to (lie United Slates in 1816. Ho did good work in zoology at Harvard, and has taken part in many expeditious to coral reefs, marine dredging, etc. His father, J. L. R. Agassiz, was also nn eminent geologist. ■ Colonel the Hon. Milo Talbot, of the Royal Engineers, saw active servico in India and in Egypt, anil wns director of Sudan surveys. Dr. K. A. Stein has recently returned from his explorations in Central Asia.
