Y.M.C.A. NOTES.

They aro strong, sincere, generous, enthusiastic, and no man van ever say that anyone wlm is stil.l youthful is hopeless, .1 liko manliness. Truo manliness is ever akin to trim Godliness— the manliness ol him who will speak tlio truth, and who will not and cannot tell a lie, who hates whatever is mean, or shabby, or underhand, who plays the gaino all tlirougli lus life, who has learnt to sacrifice liimscn for his cause, and to obey tho um« pirn and take defeat with a smile, and turn it into a victory. J like the word 'Christian, for 1 believe that the world has not yet got beyond Jesus Christ, but has not come near his perfection. It is His Spirit, His doctrine, His personality which is still potent, as it has ever been, to win souls from daikness to light- and from tho power of, Satan to God. I believe, too, that there is a common Christianity, which knits, or ought to knit, all Christians together, and to part/ uiom from all who are disciples of Jesus Christ; and tne more Christians think of it ami act upon it, the better it will bo for Christendom and tho world. Lastly, I liko tlio.word 'Association,' for men can achieve by concerted action what no man can do hv himself. fcveryono is strengthened in soul as soon as he funis that others' agree with liim. he sense of union in faith and conduct strengthens fanit hearts and eilcourages languid wills.
