DINGHY RACING.
The light southerly breeze blowing encouraged a good lieltl last evening, when a race was sailed by tho Thorndon Dinghy Sailing Club's fleet for a trophy presented by Mr. L. Sergeant. The following boats started:—Thelnia (scrl), 7,el (2}min.), Blowfly (2Jmin.), Vera (31min.), Oeo (■timin.j, Bona (Shnin.), A jus (7min.). On the run down the limit boats held their own, and, on rounding on tho wind, Ajax drew away, followed by Oeo and .Rona, the remaining boats working inshore. Ajax was first to round Oriental Bay buoy, followed by Thelnia, Oeo, and /el. At this stage the wind was very flukey, and each boat in turn took the lead Zol came out on top, having secured the wind right aft, which wind caught Thelma in turn A good finish was tho result. Zel crossing the line with a few seconds in hand, followed within 20sec. by Thelma, Ajax, and Oeo. Blowfly was the next in line, followed bv Vera Rona having given up. A voce will b'e sailed next Saturday for a trophy presented by (lie Te Aro Sailing Club.
