MANAWATU NOTES.
■' Mr. Fulton, chief fibre expert', has arranged to-give an exhaustive trial of the Currie patent flax-washer at Tokomaru today '(writes our Palmerston correspondent). ' The mild, showery'; weather of the past fortnight has produced a rapid growth. Grass and feed are plentiful all over tho district. There is every prospect of a successful season for,the dairying community. Cultivation has' been going on uninterruptedly for some time past, and there will be a big increaso in the area under crop. Several good lambing percentages • have been obtained, and much of the cropping is for the purpose of ultimately fattening lambs.
