At a meeting of the council of the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce this afternoon, it was ' decided to ■; send to tho . Auckland Chamber of Commerce the resolution passed at-a'public meeting, held at Now Plymouth on ,Fnday.:last protesting against any alteration in l; the-.time-tables' of tho WellingtonNew Plymouth express that would cause delay: in ,tho. time-of arrival a.t New Plymouth, and:lasking..that .chamber to support Taranaki: in-this protest. " - Under the suggested alterations tho mail train will not arrive here till 9.30, an hour and a hajf later than now. This would-mean that the boats for Onehunga would not get'away till about 10.30, thus making it impossible for travellers to catch tho Waikato and Rotorua express tho following morning, besides limiting the boats' time for handling cargo at Onohunga and returning tho i same day to New Plymouth: also the. Taranaki stock for the Auckland market would, not arrivo in time,for the auction sales. Much dissatisfaction is evinced in Taranaki at the suggested alteration! Meetings of protest have also been held in Hawera and Waverley.
