THE WELLINGTON CLUB. Tho.fourteenth annual'report to bo presented at; tho annual: meeting of 'lie Wellington. Swimming Club on Friday evening states that the club started the season with 140 members in the senior division, 15 juniors,' and 317 schoolboy members; and ended tho season with 156. seniors, 20 juniors, and 472 schoolboy .members. With regard to the schoolboy division, the committee report that the competition for the Duthie Cup was- as vigorous as in' previous seasons, but the Clyde Quay School was again infinitely- superior to any .other school which .competed, and'its team easily annexed tho cup tor another'year. The President's Cup, presented to the club by Dr. Chappie, was competed for, over threo "distances of 50yds., 100 yds., and 150 yds. respectively, the successful competitor turning up in Andrew Wine, a swimmer who • only last season graduated from the junior - ranks. The W. B. Missen Cup, a new cup presented to the club by Mr. W. B. Missen, was also competed for during the season over distances of 220 yds. and 440 yds., tho winner in this case being N. J. Gandy, who is practically a new swimmer. Tie total • entries for the weekly races held during the season amounted to 143, while those for tho .carnival reached 321. The total prize- money distributed during the season, w.as £29 2s. 6d., there being 21 successful competitors. The club's receipts for the season totalled approximately £29, while -the expenditure reached £26, ■ leaving - a credit balanco of £3. oh the season's operations.
