Auckland, Ilie petitioners'contend:— . That small-pox, being zymotic or filthdisease,'.' its natural scientific preventive • and remedial treatment is sanitary; and Hygienic methods:' that. there ■is uncontested evidence, that ' the vaccine lymph » rso called), distributed by. the Public Health Department, .-is . " variolous (that is, smallpox matter cultured : on the calf), its supply and use are therefore illegal,,and the State Vaccination • Establishment a , superfluous and unjustifiable demand upon the .public revenue; that the -compulsory in cotion of the'blood-stream of a' healthy child or adult by a "filth-disease".that lowers the vitality and produces disease- or diseased action is a personal assault that creates the right.of resistance j that the great majority of tho Dominion disbelievo and reject vaccination as • proved -not only by the results of local canvassing, but by the reduction of children vaccinated-under one year old, from 29 per cent, in .1806,...t0 7f per cent, in 1907, and that, of -all tlib children born in 1906 only 19 per cent,-were vaccinated. •.• ■. The petitioners pray that I arliamcnt will pass' a compulsory Vaccination Repealing Law, annulling all legislation making: vaccination compulsory. .
