Mr. Aeland bears evidence of his encounter with tho tigor, but his general health is good. Two Now Zealand students at Edinburgh University, Messrs. W. Johnston and H. F. Holinden, who both come from Wellington, havo been, appointed demonstrators in practical zoology at their university. Both Mr. Johnston and Mr. Holmden wero medallists last year, and, both won'honours in the last winter's term. These appointments aro the only two such made in tho University, so that Now Zealand has beeu singularly honoured.
