A dofinite understanding in the. beginning often saves a great deal ,of trouble later on: A traveller work for a typewriter concorn, on. commission. , After a while trouble began. One customer who, had been rounded up by the traveller came to thoioflice and completed his purchase. Some! customers had already been interested and reported by-a previous traveller. Somo prospective customers; reported by the traveller, were looked after at si different office by salaried employees of tho : company. Iho traveller claimed his. commissions, and tho* house disputed his right to tliom. The traveller had'but three courses open—to sue, leave,. or give in. Ho chose, to leavo, losing, however, a number of good prospocts. Later on, tho' manager wns heard to remark: "Wo toso businoss for lack of 111011. . Good men aro very : scarce." Did he dream., that' every "good man" in tho business'had heard the story ! of his ex-traveller? Such stories certainly tend to mako good men; scarco. ■■■■ ■'

If the employer was aoting in good faith he - should, havo provided for such contingencies when lie employed the man, leaving no room i for dispute oven with an agent who did not ' know enough to bring up tho points in advance.—"Daily Express."
