At an early hour yesterday morning, the Union Company's cargo steamer Wairuna, coal laden from Newcastle, dropped anchor in the Stream. She left' Newcastle on January 29, and experienced strong head winds and seas in crossing the Tasman Sea.. The Wairuna brought 5500 tons of coal for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Timaru, 1500 tons being for discharge at this port.
