'' ; : ''' » . . ' THE SYDNEY BOAT. The Union Company's steamer Moeraki, which left Sydney at midnight on Saturday for Wellington dircct, will probably not reac.li hero until late this evening. She was considerably delayed by heavy weather after leaving Sydney, and only cleared Port Jackson Heads at daybreak on Sunday. Tho Moeraki has 131 saloon and 141 steerage passengers, for Wellington. ' ■ • /■ THE ASHANTI. • The steamer Ashanti,' of the African Eoyal, Mail Lino of steamers,'arrived in the Stream from Bunbury at, an early hour yesterday morning. Sho left Bunbury. on January 18, and three days later encountered very heavy weather, which lasted till January 20. A change ( for the better occurred on that and .tho vessel experienced light variable winds and seas to arrival. > The Ashanti has the following cargo fjr discharge at Wellington :— 5000 jarrah sleepers, .100,000 jarrah blocks, and 800 pieces scantling. The vessel, on completing discharge; -'has' to take <in 1000 tons of bunker coal, after which she leaves for Monte Video. ' •■:.•.,■. , THE wairuna. At an early hour yesterday morning, the Union Company's cargo steamer Wairuna, coal laden from Newcastle, dropped anchor in the Stream. She left' Newcastle on January 29, and experienced strong head winds and seas in crossing the Tasman Sea.. The Wairuna brought 5500 tons of coal for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Timaru, 1500 tons being for discharge at this port. The Maoriland Sliipping •'Company's steamer Torgautcn left vLyttelton for Greymouth oil Saturday, to load timber, for Wellington. Tho same company's steamer Ennerdale was expected to leave Sydney yesterday, with a cargo of timber for .discharge at Auckland and Wellington. •
