MIRAMAR BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The fortnightly meeting of the- Miramnr Borough Council was held last night There wore present the Mayor (Mr. A. C. Crawford) in the chair ami Councillors Brodie, M'Leo f and 8011, and Mr. R. ' A letter wns received irom Wellington City Council in reference to the cemotorv site at Miramar, expressing regret that it had been found impossible to take any further notion in the matter. It was resolved to support the Sconery Preservation Society in any efforts it may take to conserve tho bush at Day's Bay A letter was received from tho We'llingt'o'i City Council in rofcreiiee to the water supply for Miramar, emoting a rate of M. per 1000 gallons. Tho Mayor thought this was a satisfactory price, although the Council had hoped to get the water at Cd. He thought 9d. was a fair compromise. It was decided to accept the offer. Tho names of roads in tho Borough vine agreed upon as follow:—1. Rond from city boundary to Church Street, Seatoun, via traiii route—"Broadway." 2. Road from city bound, ary at Evans' Bay to Fortification "Reserve, Shelly Bay—"Miramar Quay." 3. Road from Miramar Avenue to Matai Road—"Para Street. 4. Road from Miramar Avenue u> Broadway—"lra Street." 5. Road from Matai Bond to foreshore, Worser Bay—"Awn Road." 0. Road from Broadway to-Dundns Street, Hill Road— "Tiotio Road." 7. Road from Marine Parade (Berchavon) to Awn Road (pilot station)—" Marine Parade." 8. Road from Mnntell Street to Pass of Bianda— "Oruaiti Street." 9. Road from lnglis Street to Pass of Branda— "Kupo Street." The Town Clerk was. instructed to have the names embodied in tho plan of the Borough.
