A very pleasant fu.netion was held in the supper room of the \theiuu'uni Hall on Tuesday evening v hen members and supporters of the Cromwell loot ball Club gathered to suitably farewell om) of their leading members Afr R. A. Gibson, who has been transferred to the post office, Milton. Despite the fact that if was arranged at short, notice ample testimony to the popularity of the departing guest was manifest ’in the large crowd which assembled. Tn the absence ol Mr L. M. Pearson). In presenting the guest oj honour with a travelling rug. -Mr L. M. J/ply referred to the many good qualities ot Mr Ciibson both <>n and off the field ol play. Mr Gibson had been one of thenkeenest members for some years past :,ml whilst they all regretted Jiis departure they wished him ever' »ue,ess in bis future career. -Several other speakers endorsed these remarks and Mr Gibson suitably replied. Mr Gibson departed tor Milton on Wednesday morning.
