Misunderstood.
Jock had been In mischief, and had received a heavy sentence. On his first day in prison the warder put in the cell a bucket of water and a cloth, with the gruff remark, "Wash yer cell.” Ten minutes later he returned in time to see Jock drying his face on the prison uniform and grousing at the absence of a towel.
