J. F. Smith, Wanaka Road, left last week to spend an extended holiday with relatives in Christchurch. Mrs G. C. Hyde, “Longacrc,” Turras, has been spending- a low days holiday in IhVercargill. Mrs Geo. Mitchell, who was in Dunedin for a few days last week, returned to Cromwell yesterday.

~Mr aud Mrs G. H. Bowie, Lawrence were on a visit to Mr Bowie's parents, Mr and Mrs Henry Bowie, for the week-end.

Mrs Alf Stephens, who has been on a short visit to Dunedin, returned to Crom wel 1 y ester da y.

Mr and Mrs 11. J. Webb, who were called to Christchurch the previous week-end through the illness of Mrs Webb's mother, returned to Cromwell on Wednesday.

Mr and Mrs D- C Jolly, Dunedin, former well-known residents, are at present on a short visit to Cromwell, and are the guests of Mr and Mrs Ernest Jolly. Mrs C. Baite, Lower Hutt, is at present spending a holiday in Cromwell and is the guest of Mr and Mrs Geo. Wishart. Mrs M. Morton, Wellington, is at present on holiday in Cromwell and is the guest of her parents, Mr and Mrs J. Roberts. Mr W. L. Anderson, Maori Point, Tarras, who has been confined to the Cromwell Hospital for some weeks past, is, his many friends will be pleased to know, making a good recovery and left the institution last week.

Miss R. K. Short, postmistress, Bannockburn, is at present on annual leave and is being relieved by MiRalph Gibson of the Cromwell staiF. Miss A. Firth, Young Women's Methodist Bible Class Travelling Secretary, visited Cromwell during the weekend and addressed a gathering of Young People at the Methodist Church yesterday. Miss Firth was the guest of Misses R. and J. Cowey, Bank of New Zealand.
