Mr. Smith had just finished putting seeds in the garden. “How about the birds eating the seeds?” queried Mrs. Smith. “Hadn’t you better put up a scarecrow?” “Oh, that doesn’t matter,” was the reply. “One of us will always be in the garden.” When Aby and Cohen returned to lunch after a morning walk along the sea-front, Aby’s hands were red with sunburn. “Oi, oi,' exclaimed Mrs. Isaacs, their landlady, “look at Aby’a hands, they look like lobsters!” “I knew it,” said Cohen. “I takes him out for a blow before lunch and he vould talk business vitb a man he met.”
