Stronach, Morris and Co., Ltd, report for week ending Thursday, Aug. sth, 1926, as follows : Fat Cattle.—There were 240 penned, a number of the pens being of exceptional quality. Competition was not keen and prices were tho same as last week. Extra prime bullocks to £l9 10s, prime £!(> to j£l7, medium £l2 10s to £l3, light bullocks £9 to £lO, best oows and heifers £& 10s to £ 10, medium £(i to £7, inferior £5 to £o 10s. Fat Sheep. —There were 2433 yarded, consisting mostly of good quality wethers. Competition was slack, and prices were easi r by Is 6d to 2s per head on last sales rates. Extra prime wethers to 435, prime 30s to 325, medium 27s to 28s, inferior 24s to 255, extra prime ewes to 355, prime 26s to 28s, medium 21s to 235, inferior 17s to 19s. Pigs.—There was a medium entry of both fat and store pigs, and prioes for these were firmer by about 5s per head on last sale's rates. Wheat.—There is praotically no milling wheat offering at present, and millers will take" any lines available at up to 7s on trucks, country sidings. Fowl wheat meets with fair demand at up to 7s 3d, ex store, Dunedin. Oats.—Very little business is passing at present and A-grade Cartons may be quoted at up to 3s od ou truoks, country sidings, and B's at 3* Id. Potatoes.—Fair stocks are still held in store, and the marked is quiet. Prime tables are bringing from £6 to £6 10s, ex store. Inferior sorts, however, are not inquired for. Chaff,—Fair consignments have been coming to hand, and tho demand is confined to prime briejht oaten sheaf which meets with fair inquiry at up to £5 10s, ex rail, Dunedin. Inferior and discolored lines, however, are difficult to dispose of. Rabbitskins.—We held our usual fortnightly Rabbitskin Sale on Tuesday, and offered a large catalogue to the usual attendance of buyers. Competition was erratic, and prioes for winter doe 3 showed a drop of from 7d to lOd per lb on last sale's rates. Super winter buoks were firm, while second winter bucks showed a slight drop. Inooming and other sorts met with fair inquiry at late rates. Consignors please note that pigs and poultry must arrive not later than Wednesday morning of each week. We have a stock of poultry crates on hand for the use of our clients. A keen demand for extra choice Delicious and Stunner Apples and dessert pears. Eggs are in good demand and prime table poultry is short of requirements. Bacon and porker pigs find a ready sale, and good lines of seed potatoes have been eold during the week. A large consignment of (lowering shrubs, ornamental and forest trees from the North Island will be sold on Thursday. RABBITSKIN MARKET. Wright, Stephendon an.l Co. report:— At our sale, held on the 3rd inst,, we offered a fair-sized catalogue to a full attendance <;f buyers. There was again a good inquiry for winter bucks, and these sold at prices, which were very firm at last sale's rates to a shade dearer. Winter does met with a \£ry poor demand and prices were lower by 5d to 12d per lb. The buyeshxve not the same outlets as usual tor doeskins, and this has oiused the drop in va!ue3. All other of skins can bo quoted firm at last sale's values.
