RABBITSKIN MARKET.

Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd., report as follows:

Thanks to the continued .support of our many clients we were again able to submit a large and varied assortment of skins. There was a full attendance of buyers and bidding was very brisk throughout, with the result that a most satis factory clearance was effected. The better grades of skins, realised the highest prices for the season, evidence of which can be gleuied from the fact that we obtained for 2 bags Ist winter does 240 d per lb, I bale Ist Winter Bucks KilAd per lb, 1 bale 2nd Winter Does 221 d per lb, 5 hales 2nd Winter Bucks lold petlb, while another lot of 0 bales spotted winters brought 140 d per lb. The quality of the skins on ofl'er at this sale, taken all over, was not as good as that of. a fortnight ago. As is to be expected at this season of the year, the bulk of the offerings comprised outgoing skins, a large proportion of which were springs and milky does. For these, late rates were fully maintained, while for the lower grades an advance on late rates can be reported. With the approach of warm weather aud mild nights skins require to be watched more carefully and protected from the ravages of the moth. A good plan is to keep a supply of Naphthaliu, or some other strong do-oderant, scattered freely among the skins and about the drying sheds. It is also advisable during the summer months to sprinkle it among the skins when packing for the market. While such remunerative returns can be obtained, we feel that the best advice we can tender clients is to continue forwarding their consignments regularly.. The following is a range of tin: prices ob taincd at our sale last Monday :—Runners and suckers 15d to 17d, summers 27d to 33d, light racks 30d to 4Ud, prime racks 40d to -lid, early autumns S-kl to 89d, late autumns !)(jd to 103 d, incoming winters HOd to 120.1, spotted winters 1201 to 140 d, Ist winter does 230 d to 2-JOd, 2nd winter does 210 d to 220.1, Ist winter bucks 150 d to IGOd, 2nd winter bucks 14()d to loOd, milky does 40d to 43d, summer broken 18d to 21d, autumn broken 2Sd to 34d, winter broken ."Slid to (J4d, outgoing winter bucks 90d to IOOd, outgoing winter (loss 130 d to 140 d, springs 50d to olid, spring fawns 30d to 36d, winter lawns Uod to iJikl, spring blacks 34d to Slid, autumn blacks 44d t.» 48d, 2nd winter blanks IOOd to 110J, Ist winter black 170 d to 188 d, spring silver greys 30d to 37d, autumn silver greys 4Sd to s(jd, 2nd winter silver greys 1(101 to 1201, winter silver greys 170 d to T'JOd, weevilly lOd to 20d, hareskins 40d to 4Sd, horsehair I7d to 20;1, eatskius Id to 24d (each), gutted racks Kid to 20d, gutted autumns 3f>d to 48d, gutted winters GOd to (ibd, gutted outgoing winters 30d to 40d, gutted.milky 17d to 20d, springs 24d to 20d per lb.
