ita]>]}lT.skin m arki-:t. Messrs Dalgety and Co. Lid., report as follows : At our fortnightly sale we submitted another large catalogue to a full attendance of buyers. Competition was keen throughout and a satisfactory sale was the result. Prices for the better grades of winters were quite as good as a fortnight ago, and in many eases better, considering the difference in quality. The bulk of the offerings in this sale were offseasons skins—even the best grades were much lighter in the fur than those offered a fortnight ago. Springs, milky docs, and outgoing winters realised such satisfactory prices as to warrant clients ■.continuing into the summer. With the approach of warm weather and mild nights, skins require to be watched more carefully and protected from the ravages of the moth. A good plan is to keep a supply of Napthalin or some other strong de-oderant scattered freely among the skins and about the drying sheds. It is also advisable during Lho summer months to sprinkle it among the skins when packing for the market. While such remunerative returns can be obtained wc feel that, the best advice we can lender clients is to continue forwarding their consignments regularly. The next sale is on 3rd November.

The following is a range of the prices obtained at our sale last Monday :—Runners and suckers 14 d to lad, summers 24d to 2b*l, light racks 30d to 32d, prime racks 40d to 44d, early autumns 7*»dtoSod, late autumns 94d to iOOd, incoming winters lU4d to lUtid, early winter bucks IUSd to 114 d, early winter docs 122 d to 130 d, spotted winters llOdtollSd, special selected super does 220 d, Ist winter does 200 d to 212 d, 2nd winter does lUOd to 20(Jd, Ist winter bucks 12Sd to 132 d, 2nd winter bucks 11 (id to 120 d, milky does 40d to 43d. summer broken 17d to 21 Id, autumn broken 28d to 32d, winter broken olid to Old, outgoing winter bucks fSUd to OUd, outgoing winter does ll()d to 120 d, springs oOd to 02d, spring fawns 3Ud to 30d, winter fauns IOOd to 101 cl, spring blacks 34d to 3?d, autumn blacks 4Sd to aid. 2nd winter blacks I lUd to I ISd, Ist winter black ITUd to iS'id, spring silver greys 30 1 to 37d, aitlumn silver greys IS I to “aid, 2nd winter silver greys lOOd to 1 !2d. w inlet silver groys Ido l to isod. weevilly in 1 to 2nd. bareskins olid to 42d, horsehair l7d to 2nd. c.itskins Id to 2ld (each), gutted racks Kid to 2nd. gutted autumns 4S 1 to ”»2d, gutted winters (Mid to (Kid, gutted outgoing winters ."Oil to 40(1, gutted milky 17d to 20(1. gutted springs 24d to 2(5*1.
