The heavy rainfall and recent weather lias had its effect on the stock in the district surrounding Hastings (says the Napier “ Daily Telegraph ”). From all quarters losses are reported, and one well-known Hastings resident is said to have lost at least 150 lambs. The losses have practically all occurred amongst the young stock, the older animals having withstood the elements exceptionally well.
