Football.
Lowborn and Queonsberry met at Cromwell on Saturday in their third engagement for the season. The two previous games resulted in a draw, but this time Lowburn gained a win by seven points to nil (a potted goal by L. Spratfc, and a try by Pat M Fclin). The match was witnessed by a fair crowd of spectators, and was interesting throughput. The players generously agreed to hold the game iu Cromwell as a benefit for the hospital, and their clVorts were liberally rewarded, the proceeds from the gate, a guessing competition, and a dance at night, reaching the vicinity of £2O, and this carries a subsidy of 24s in the pound. The Cromwell Brass Band was in attendance and played a number of items at intervals during the afternoon.
