The studio "tea" had been a great success ; the one small and very useful member of the company bad walked softly about, looking at the pictures. Just before the party broke up the artist discovered bam surveying a picture of a lion with awe and interest. "Don't be ai'raiid. little chap," said the artist, genially, patting his tiny guest on the head. "'He won't hurt you." "Oh, I'm not afraid at all," came the response, in a clear treble that caused every one to listen. ' Fie doesn't look a. bit as -if lie were alive, you know."
