Beware of Petrol.
That great, c.ini should Ik; taken when petrol is n<ed for cleaning purposes (says ‘*Thi! Antoeir,”) was evidenced hy an accident which occurred recently at Tiverton. A garage workman at the close of the day put his greasy overalls into a bucket and poured over them a small (printitx of petrol for the purpose of cleaning them, and took them home. Hero ho poured upon them some boiling water, and the petiol fumes dispersing with Ibe steam, became ignited by a candle which was standing in a window near by, although the candle was inside, while the operation was being performed outside the house. The man was severely burned, and would no doubt have lost his life hut lor the presence of mind shown by Ids younger brother, a hov of 111, who extinguished the (lames by smothering hem with his own coat.
