Giller the well-known stock draler and agriculturist informs the Southland ' Times ' that something unusual will need to happen, to pre* vent stock from being very dear during next winter and spring. He paid that it would be interesting to know the number of sheep that has been railed north from Southland this year, and that he knew of large numben that had been purchased for March delivery. In addition to what has been forwarded by rail, Mr Giller said that thousands of cattle and sheep had also heen sent north by road. Al • together, he said that he did not view the situation with equanimity, and he felt quite confident that before long others would be viewing the position in a similarly unfavourable light.
