Stronach, Morris and Co., Ltd., report for week ending 22nd February, as follows : Fat Sheep :—2291 were penned, the majority being prime quality. Butchers having bought heavily last week did not want any and prices were considerably easier all round showing a drop of Is to Is (3d, as compared with last week's sale. Best wethers brought from 17s fid to "18s; extra to 20s, medium los to 16s fid, light 12s fid to 13s fid, best ewes lis fid to 16s fid, extra good to 20s, medium 12s fid to 13s. Fat Lambs : 1281 were yarded, Freezing buyers were operating more freely, and prices showed a rise of about Is per head. Best lambs brought from lis to los, extra to lfis 3d, medium lis to 12s fid. Fat Cattle : —There was a very large yarding of 200 head. Butchers did not require many and prices showed a drop of fully £1 per head as compared with last week. Pigs:—About 120 were penned, store pigs being on short supply. Porkers and baconers sold at about last week's rates. Suckers brought from 10s fid to 12s 61, slips lis to lfis fid, stores 275, porkers 22s to 335, light baconers to 41s, heavy baconers to 625, choppers to 72s (id. Hides :—We held our fortnightly sale of hides at our stores Crawford Street, on Thursday, the loth inst. when we submitted a medium catalogue. Competition for cow and ox hides was very keen, prices being fully up to last sales rates. Calfskins were not in such strong demand and prices showed a drop of fully Id per lb. Our top price for ox hides was Bsd and cow hides fi;|d per lb. Tallow and Fat: —There is no change to report there being good enquiry for all coming forward. Oats:—There is very little change there being very few lines of new oafs on the market. Quotations: Prime milling 2s id to 2s od, good to best feed 2s 3d to 2s Id, medium 2s Id to 2s 4d per bushel (sacks extra.) Wheat: —There is very little offered and values rule about the same. Fowl wheat is in good demand. Quolalions; Prime milling Velvet 3s 10d to 3s lid. Tuscan 3s 9d to 3s 9kl, best whole fowl wheat 3s 8d to 3s 9d, medium 3s 3d (o 3s 7d, broken and damaged 2s lOd to 3s 3d per bushel (sacks extra.) Chaff: —Consignments have eased and prices have improved slightly. Medium and inferior lines are hard to sell. Quotations :—Prime oalen sheaf £3 7s fid to £3 10s, good £3 to £3 2s fid, inferior £2 10s to £2 15s per ton (sacks extra.)
