Cromwell Bowling Club.
A committee meeting of the above was held on Friday evening. Present :—Messrs O. J. Scott (president), W, Jolly, G. Stumbles, J. Betts, D. Young, R. Yarcoe, and A. M. Irvine. Minutes of last meeting were confirmed, and accounts amounting to £5 13s 9d were passed for payment. A letter was read from Mr W. H. Collins stating that early in March he would be able to undertake the work of top dressing and sowing the green, which would occupy about five days. He added that the month of March was a very suitable time for sowing, and the green would be ready for play in the spring. In view of sowing the green it was deemed necessary to erect a protecting fence. Several members who had made an inspection for the purpose detailed what was required, and after a short discussion it was decided to enclose the green with a fence of jarrah palings. Mr Betts was instructed to order the necessary material, the work of erection to be carried out by moans of a working bee. Resolved —That the secretary write to the Borough Council and request that the rates on the green be remitted for the piesent. The customary vote to the chair closed the meeting.
