He was a travelling galvanic merchant who gave shocks at country shows at a penny a stagger, and a sailor, who had been induced to try, had wrecked the whole show under the impression that he was the victim of a practical joke. "I'll have you up for wilful damage," cried the owner. "What's the matter with '& salt and battery ?' " innocently inquired Trrfler, who was an amused spectar tor.
