IN ARCTIC WIMBLEDON.
During the recent severe snowfall' and frost the pastime of ski-ing has served to enliven the ordinary quiet prospect of Wimbledon High Street. After this the news that a Polar bear hunt was being actively prose-
cuted on Wimbledon Common would be hardly calculated to cause us surprise. The pastime of ski-ing has generally enjoyed exceptional popularity throughout Northern Europe last winter, and a movement is at present on foot to institute a ski-ing club in the United Kingdom. Meanwhile Wimbledon leads the way.
