The following business of local interest was transacted at the meeting of the Board held in Dunedin uu Tuesday and Wednesday last ; —■ Edwin Barker applied for a grazing license over the area reserved for closer settlement on the west of his small grazing run No. 23G.J, Morven Hills Yearly license granted at rental of Id per acre. * William Allan applied for a renewable lease over 500 acres in blocks Iff and XVI 1.1, Leaning Rock district. —Lease granted at a capital value of IBs per acre. The Warden reported on the application by William Richard Parcel I. junr, for a renewable lease over section G block I V, Bannockburn district.—Lease granted at a capital value of 17s Gd per acre. * , ~. , Brodrick and Clin liner, on behalf of T. A. Anderson and W. A. Bovett, applied for an o.r.p. license over section 5, block 11, Lower Wanaka district.— Held over at request of applicant's agent. . The follow ing applications lor translers were dealt with: O.r.p. The Secretary, Pembroke Commonage Committee, wrote stating that J. H. King bad resigned from the committee, and that K. C. Ewing had been chosen to till the vacancy. —License to be amended accordingly. Ranger Leonard forwarded reports on blocks XXI to XXV and XXIX to XXXIII, Town of Cromw ell, and suggested upsets as fallows : —Blocks XXI and XXIX, £2l per block ; block XXII (except section 12), £l3 per block; blocks XXIII XXX. XXXI, TU Per block; blocks XXIV and XXXII. £ls 15s. per block ; blocks XXV and XXXIII, ITS per block.—Blocks to be classified as suburban land, and offered at auction at upsets suggested by ranger. Ranger Leonard reported on the application by R. L. Barclay for a license to occupy area of 19 acres lying between .sections 21a and 25, block IV , Lowei Haw ea district.—Received. Ranger Leonard reported on the appliof William Johns for a renewable lease over area around ihe town of Newcastle. —Held over until the question of dealing with the lake frontage is considered. Ranger Leonard reported on the application by D. Urqiihart for a license to occupy lake frontage opposite sections G and 7. block iv. Lower Hawca distiiet. —Held over until the question of dealing with other frontage is considered. The following applications to transfer ■wore recommended for approval : O.r.p. 144, section 11, block xu, Lower Wanaka, Public Trustee (as committee in estate of George Geer) to Isabella Geer; l.i.p. 911, sections 8, 9, and 10, block xiu, Lower Wanaka, Public Trustee (as committee in estate of George Geer) to Isabella Geer. It was resolved that Messrs M'Leiinirn and Urqiihart he informed that the question of renewing their licenses in Lower Hawca district will he considered at next meeting of the board ; meantime no renewal to be given. An application by Thomas Smith for a renewable lease over section 5. block IV, Bannockburn district, was granted nt a capital value of 25s per acre. Ranger M'Dougall forwarded a request from Carl Hansen to have the sections in the township of Makarora offered for sa l e- Yearly license granted at a rental of 5s per annum over the surveyed portion of the tow'n. #
