Cromwell Jockey Club.

A committee meeting of the abw.o club was held at the Golden Age Hotel, on Thursday evening, the members present being : - Messrs J, Kane, (President), R. May, J. W. Perriam, C. Mitchell, F. Donnelly, and T. Lester. After consideration of the programme, as submitted by the programme committee, it was approved. On behalf of the programme committee Mr J. Perriam stated they were in favor of reinstating the Derby in next year's programme, but as it would require to be decided earlier in the year than the annual meeting, he would suggest holding a meeting at race time to deal with it. It was resolved after discussion to carry out the suggestion made. The question of having a starting clock for the trots, as suggested by the Alexandra Club, was left over pending a reply from that Club re the cost. The offer of the Cromwell Argus to do the printing and advertising for .£lO, and to pay =£l4 for the race cards was accepted. Several new members were elected, and when the president nominated Messrs James Cowan and James Horn it was tbe signal for applause. Messrs G. Wilson, A. Hansen, A. Inder, J. Guillemot and A. M. Hansen were also duly elected. A vote of thanks to the chair closed the meeting.
