Cycling Notes.
Cyclists who, at'every opportunity, trail up a motor car to escape a headwind, or do a bit of fast pedalling, should note that 1 an English County Court Judge has laid it jlown that Cyclists who indulge in this dangerous practice do so at their own risk, and must look for no redress N in case of accident. There are a hundred and one things that cyclists should know about the cycle tyres they ride. £Their mode of manufacture, and their proper treatment when fitted to a cycle are important matters! that have a big influence on the;pleasures of cycling. All these particulars and much valuable information can be gleaned from the artistic booklet “ All About Dunlop tyres for 1906,” which the Dunlop Rubber Co., or your local cycle agents will be pleased to supply you gratis. Every cyclist should make a point of securing a copy. It is well ■worth the trouble. An interesting petrol consumption test was recently held in Paris. The car used was a 16-22 h.p. Berliet, which travelled 62 miles at the rate of 46 miles an hour on 2 gallons of petrol As the car and its occupants weighed one and a-half tons, and covered an out and home course on less than 16 pints of petrol, the feat is considered to be a somewhat remarkable one in Continental Motoring circles. A specially designed carburetter was used in the trial, to which is given the credit of the small fuel consumption.
