Picnic.

The annual picnic of the combined Methodist and Presbyterian Sunday School was held in the Victoria Park, on Sfe Patrick's Day, under very favourable weather conditions. The attendance, which was not large in the early part of the day, rapidly increased as the day wore on, and at 3 p.m. there were about 250 on the ground. During the day games of all sorts were indulged in for both old and young, and many remained behind in the evening to further participate in the games. Messrs Bowie, Haslam and Gunn acted as sports superintendants, and kept the children in high glee by starting races, etc, for prizes which had been provided. The ladies, as usual, had the refreshments under their care and provided a splendid repast for the inner man. The following are the class prize winners : —Mr Ross's Class.—S. Rush 1, Jean Arthur 2.
