Two estates purchased by the Government under the Lands for Settlement Act are to be put. into the market shortly. The Maerewhenua Estate, containing 11,000 acres, pnrchased from Mr Borton, will be disposed of on the 10 th September, under the lease-in-perpetuitv system. It has been divided into 102 sections, the rental per acre for which ranges from Is 3d to 9s 6d per annum. The largest sections are about 600 acres. The Awarua block, of 14,918 acres, to be put on the market oa the 18th prox., will be divided into sections ranging from 97 to 622 acres. This land is all bush country.
