[FROM OUH OWM OOKaKSPONDUNT .1 By invitation of the school committee a large number of ladies assembled at the schoolhouse last Tuesday evening, to take into consideration the advisability of getting up a oazaar in aid of the school funds, ' •' The chairman, Hr Henry Symas, placed before the meeting the financial position of the school committee, and asked the ladies (if they thought the object in view was worthy of their support) to form themselves into a committee. A motion to that effect was made by Mrs W. Fraser and carried unanimously, Mrs Beck was elected president, Mrs D. Magnus and Miss Rivers vice-presi-dents, and Miss Pratt secretary and treasurer. The ladies have commenced work in real earnest, and already a good sum of money has been collected and a large amount of work promised.
