A painful sensation ,was created in Cromwell on Satur lay morning when it became known that Mr E. M'Nulty had received intelligence that his mother had, the previous evening, met her death by a railway accident in Southland. The disaster happened at Edendale station, and according to published telegram it seems that Mrs M'Nulty attempted to leave one of the carriages, when she fell between the carriage and the platform, receiving such injuries that she died in a few moments. The deceased had resided for many years in this district, where she brought up a large family, some of whom are at present in business here. Mrs M'Nulty was much respected by her neighbors, Mid the news of her untimely death ha 3 been received with deep sorrow. Mr M'Nulty's two sons have proceeded to Southland, where their father has been residing for some time back.
