RIFLE-SHOOTING.

. The first meeting of the South Otago Rifle Association -was held -on the Centrewood Range, Kaitangata, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. There were over 70 entries', including (competitors from Wellington, Papafcaio, Wyndham, Invercargill, Tapanui, Dune din, IBruce, and Kaitangata. The visitors were camped' on the range, .Mr H. having charge of the catering. Captain Walker acted as range officer, and Captain Rutherford ((president of the Kaitangata Club) and his committee attended to the local arrangements. The results are as follows:

Centrewood Match, seven, shots at 300yds.—F. Clayton 1, J. Smith 2, R. Mackie 3.

Stirling Match, seven shots at 600 yds.—John Coulter 1, C. Nicholls 2' A. </. Bellamore 3. '

Kaitangata Match, seven shots at 500yds,—iL. W. 'Potter 1, Geo. Middlejnass 2, Thos. Frazer 3. Milton Match, seven shot's at 500 and 600yds.—Thos. Moir 1, C. Holland 2 K. Gillick 3. '

Balclutha Match, 10 shots at 800 yds. —James Smith 1, W. D. Carson 2 €. M, Moss 3.

South Otago IMatch, 10 shots at 1000 yds.—A. 'McFarlane 1, ®. Gillick 2 M. Paul 3.
