"The 'Marriage Act-, 1908," as recently amended, provides, in effect, that where persons 1 intending marriage dwell imxthe districts of different registrars it is now now necessary to give notice of marriage to the registrar of each district. It is enough if one of the parties to a marriage has resided in the district wherein the marriage is to foe solemnised for three days immediately prior to the day on which notictf of the marriage is given to like »gi»trar. An important point in connection jftth the length o : f residence required is that the three days count frota midnight on the day 6f arrival of one of the contracting parties in the district where the wedding is to take place. Another amendment extends the hours during which 'marriages may be performed until "eight in, the evening," except in the case of the registrar's oijSice, where marriages may !be ; solemnised "at any time while the office i» opjen for the transaction of public (business."
