After many years of calm and selfsatisfied complacency, the Borough of ■Milton hits awakened irony its slumbering indifference, and uudcr t-lte ad* .ministration' of its new and 'progressive Mayor (Mr Alex. The borough council have recently interested themselves among other things in the provision of an adequate water supply and drainage system for the town, and after the advice of engineers had been procured the following' alternative proposals were submitted to a poll of the ratepayers on Friday last: (1) A special loan of £16,52; i for water supply. k (2) A special loan of £.'14,42.'! for a combined scheme of water sup--1 ply and drainage.
