FAREWELL AT TUAPEKA MOUTH.

PRESENTATIONS TO FARRIER A. McCORKINDALE. JROil OUB OWN CORRESPONDENT. A farewell concert and dance to Farrier A. McCorkindale was held in tho Tuapeka Mouth 'Hall on Wednesday, May 23. Owing to the inclemency of the weather people living at a distance were prevented from attending, but nevertheless a fair number assembled to do honour to the departing soldier. The concert programme was as follows: —Songs were rendered by Misses Thompson, Anderson and Nenoff, Messrs Blair, ilayman, MeGowan and .McCorkindale; duet, Miss atid Mr McCorkindale; recitations. Misses Thompson, Skinner and Master Skinner. The accompaniments were played by Mrs Kirby and Miss Allen. At the conclusion of the programme Mr Keenan in an appropriate speech presented Farrier McCorkindale and his -wife with a well-filled purse of sovereigns from the residents of Tuapeka Mouth and surrounding districts, and also to Farrier McCorkindale, from the patriotic committee, a money belt. Farrier McCorkindale on rising to respond was greeted with prolonged cheers, and in a brief speech thanked the people for their good wishes and generosity. Supper provided by the ladies of the district was then partaken of, after which the floor was cleared for dancing, which was kept going till 3 a,m., music being supplied by Mrs Kirby and.
