LETTER FROM GERMAN MtONT An Amsterdam message says:— i "Everything is at stake,' is the recurring phrase in an inspired letter from the German front. This letter is given, prominence in the semi-official 'Norddeutscher Allgemeine.' It goes on: "The battle surpasses imagination. The Russians, rejuvenated and' reequipped, overran our eastern wall, thus relieving the Italians. France, reborn, is pouring with the British; a: hurricane, of iron at th e SomtKe."' The writer refers to the "cold-blootled shopkeepers of the Thames, who are attacking the health and j'fe of the German women and children."
