ZEPPELIN OVER ROUEN.

Motten and Havre had their first Zeppelin visit, but the enemy airship, aftw .just reaching both towns, thought better of it, turned tail, and fled last. Neither Havre nor Rouen were at all disturbed. In tin- latter town the first alarm was given to the electric company, which cm off all the lights and •stopped the tramcars. Passengci's got out and stood staring skywards. In the theatres the sudden darkness produced no sort of panic. In some cases the performances went on by candle light. Meanwhile, in the streets, some squares where pas i,s used remained brilliantly lit for half an hovgr. when gasmen rushed round putting out lamps. Rouen considered the method a little primitive. Gunfiring was not heard till half-an-hour after the effectrie light was put out. The Zeppelin was then presumably frightened off, and no Rouennais over saw it.
