The inspector reported that the following works had been attended to during the month: —Blinding metal on Davidson Street, repairs to the Coast Road above the school, cleaning and covering the ash depot, quarrying gravel, repairing- path on Christcliurch Street ami I'oinplcting the cleaning of ditches at G'rantmi. Three owners had been notifif'l to cut back hedges overgrowing footpaths. Two hair- attended to the work, and the other had arranged to do tlie work during the week. An inspection of the corner of Branksea Street failed tn discover a rubbish deposit. Owing to the illness of the contractor very poor progress was being made with asliplalting contract. —The report was received, ami it was decided to write the contractor asking that the asphalting work lie pushed on as rapidlv as possible.
