YPRES SALIENT. LONDON, April 26. The Times' correspondent with the British Headquarters states that the Germans have recently been increasingly active iu the Ypres region. Some think this is the tieginniug oi a real enemy attack on the Ypres salient. .If so, we are quite ready and shall welcome it. The more general opinion, however, is thai they are only aiming at keepiug us occupied, and so to prevent our preparations for a grand offensive.

THE FUTILE RAID. LONDON, April 2<5-. A destroyer which had previously played a prominent part in the .North Sea lighting was in the thick of the Lowestoft naval light. A shut penetrated her engine room, and four men were scalded. So far as has been ascertained the British casualties are approximately 25. A Zeppelin from the south-east approached Kent in the darkness. There was a terrific explosion from one of her bombs dropping into the sea. The antiaircraft guns and searchlights got busy, and the raider rapidly disappeared inland. The latter was clearly seen, as it was flying low. On the searchlights picking it up the anti-aircraft guns heavily fired ou the raider, which rose rapidly, turned and disappeared.

THAMES MOUTH BOMBED. LONDON, April 26. Official: The raiders dropped over 100 bombs in the Thames Estuary last night, but there were no casualties. One hundred bombs have been found since the Norfolk and Suffolk raid, but, only one casualty occurred. • The damage consisted of a horse killed, a haystack destroyed, and much glass broken.
