PERSONAL.
At the last brass band practice, Bandmaster W. McDougall, on behalf of the
members, presented Bandsmen W. McLaren and J." Thompson with a set of military brushes each (writes our Kaitaugata correspondent). Messrs McLaren and Thompson are about to proceed to Treutham for training for the front.
Mr Alex. McMillan has been advised that his eldest son .lack is again on duty iu the firing line at the front (writes our Kaitangata correspondent). The members of the P.W.M.U. presented a beautiful flower 'howl as a farewell gift on Tuesday afternoon to Mrs W. R. Mechaelis, who is about to leave the district (writes our Kaitangata correspondent). Mrs \V. Geary made the presentation, and Miss Smith suitably replied on behalf of Mrs 'Mechaelis. Later iu the evening the members of the Horticultural Society met, when Mr W. Smaili presented a set of silver fish kuives to Mr Mechaelis. Mr R. Aitchisou also handed to Mr Mechaelis a splendid travelling rug. Mr Mechaelis suitably replied. Trooper K. Campbell, of inchclutha, who enlisted from Wellington, and Private R. Mclntyre, of Balclutha, members of the Kith Reinforcements, are at present home on final furlough.
