OTAGO LAND BOARD.

DISTRICT MATTERS. At the meeting of the Otago Land Board in Dunedin last week the following Clutha district matters were dealt with: —• Mr Thomas Brown applied to occupy under a license for seven years section 47 (Manuka Island), block 11, Hillend district. —Declined. Consideration was given to the case of Mrs Annie M. Ferreau, who had failed to show cause why her lease 47H, over section 19; block XI, Tautuku district, should not be declared forfeited for non-compliance with the improvement conditions thereof. —Declared forfeited.

Messrs Wright, Watson and Harrington applied for a reduction in royalty on their timber licenses 106 and 107 over areas in block 1 and ill, Tautuku district.—Declined.

' The authority of the board was requested for the Receiver of Land Revenue to deal with the sum of £25, being valuation of improvements on section 58, block.lX, Glenomaru district. — Approved. Ranger O'Xeill reported upon the valuation of section, 5, block Til, Gleuomaru.—Late lessee to be offered a temporary license for nine months at rental of Us per acre for that period. Ranger O'Neill reported upon Bush Reserve, section 21, block 11, Catlins. — Retained as bush reserve.

Ranger O'Neill reported Upon the application of Mr Percy Shaw to purchase a piece of land anil portion of closed midline fronting section loa, block 111, Woodland district. —Approved, at capital value of £2 per acre, subject to.consent of local bodv. *

Ranger O 'Neill reported upon section 14, block X, Woodland district.—To be re-offered on optional system, capital value £1 2s 6d per acre, value of improvements £5 ss. The following applications to purchase freehold of laud held under occupation with right of purchase were approved: O.r.p. 1941, section 15, block VI, Woodland district—Mr Joseph George Reid, lessee; o.r.p. 244, section 15, black VII, Woodland district—Mr Andrew Allan, lessee; o.r.p. 328, section 24, block IX, Woodland district—Lydia Shutt, lessee. The following applications to transfer were approved:—M.l. 618, section 19, block VII, W&odland, Mr Richard B. Berney to Mr Robert Warnock; p.l. 986, section 44, block VIII, Glenomaru district, Mr Samuel Young to Mr Walter Burgess; p.l. 97 v.s.s., section 15, •block XIX, Clutha district, Mr Thomas Johnston to Mr Henry Hurring; l.i.p. 10571, section 16, block V, Woodland, Mr W. Rogers to Mr Alfred Allan Campbell. [ The following application to transfer was recommended for the Minister's approval:—R.l. 208s, section 31a, Conical Hills settlement, Mr William Speden to Mr Dugald Kelly Stuart Macaulay. The following application to transfer was declined: —M.l. 1560, section 49, block I, Warepa district, Mr Henry Robinson to Bessie Agnes Shearing. Jane Ann. Yorston applied for permission to surrender her renewable lease 186 over allotment 29a, Otanomomo settlement. —Application to be considered when rent is paid up. Mr David Tilson applied for rural land under 0.r.p., section 39, block IV, Glenomaru district.—Approved; capital value 10s per acre. Ranger O'Neill reported upon section 27, block VIII, Catlins district.—Resolved to offer section under optional system, at 15s per acre, weighted 1 with £137 16s valuation for improvements'.
