CONCERT AND PANTOMIME.

[ A successful and well-attended enteri ment was held in the Oddfellows' Hall I on Tuesday evening, the proceeds going in aid of St. Mark's Church funds. The first part was taken up with a pantomime in which twenty performers took part. This was staged very prettily, and the dancing and singing was muchenjoyed. The principal parts were taken by Miss Nellie Batchelor as the Sleeping Beauty ;(the title role), Miss Winnie Latfirtforjr as the Queen, and afterwards as; Frince, R. Cuff as King, Allan Shand aS' I 'Chamberlain. There were- fifteen fairies and eourtiers, all dressed to suit the' occasion, with Miss Gladys Downes as Queen of the Fairies, while the witch's spinning wheel was presided over by Miss Agnes Ludlow, who sought by dark deeds to circumvent the work of the good fairies. After an overture by Miss Bella Clark, a tiny tot, Kathleen McNamara was vociferously encored for a song, "If I could plant a tiny se'ed of love," which she sang to perfection, Mr E. L. Jones recited "Among the palms." Three little girls—Edna Herbison, Evelyn Noble and Rhoda Johnson—sang "Three green bonnets" very nicely indeed, while the tableau by a number of small girls was well set. Miss Winnie Lattimore gave a successful recitation, and Miss Rhoda Johnson danced the Highland Fling and responded to an encore, while an excellent number was a song by Alex. Ramsay, "Oh, listen to the band," with chorus and effects.

The concluding item was a burlesque, "Borneo and Jew-li-et," with the "balcony at the Crown" as the scene, wherein two local juveniles got home some local ' ' hits'' in the most approved manner.

Mrs Bowcott acted as accompanist in a successful manner, while' to Miss Winnie Lattimore should be given, a large share pf the credit for the success* ful pantomime,
