CENTRAL PRODUCE MART. The Central Produce Mart, Limited (Reilly, Gill and Company, proprietors), report for week ending Wednesday, March 11, as follows: Cooking apples have been very hard to sell, excepting really choice fruit well packed and graded. Tomatoes are coming forward freely, and tliev have experienced a good demand.' Potatoes are in better supply. Vegetable marrows are scarce. Swede turnips are now making their appearance and realising good values. Phenomenally heavy consignments of onions came forward during the week, our firm receiving no less than 450 bags of Canterbury onions, and prices have come back with a bang, agents offering Canterbury's at £5 15s, ex rail. Poultry still continue to come forward freely, realising good prices. Heavy consignments of eggs are coming on to the market, and prices are easier all round. Consignments of bananas reach us on Monday, aud we expect Bs. Strawberries realised Is 3d per pottle; lemons 12s per case.
