BALCLUTHA CLUB,

Tito annual meeting of the above dub was held on Tuesday evening, and was attended by over twenty members, the president (Mr Jas, Bh.cdd.an) in the chair. The secretary (Mr H. Wayniouth) read the balance-sheet and report. The report, which was adopted, was as follows:—The season 1913-1914 has not been so successful as in previous yearsi The club has been unfortunate in losing the old links for the year owing to the recent floods. Arrangements were made for a course on the hills at Kosebank, but for many reasons it did not fulfil expectations. The financial position is, however, sound. There is a credit balance at the bank of £l6 7s Id and outstanding subscriptions amountingto £3O 2s. Unpaid accounts amount to £l6 2s lOd, so the balance for the season is £3O 6s 3d. The assets amount to £97 9s 4d and the liabilities to £4O 2s lOd, leaving a balance of £57 6s 6d. During the year the club had.a visit from the Milton Club, and paid a return match to Milton. The elub matches were not very successful, and owing to the lack of interest on the part of members the championship event was allowed to lapse. The thanks of the committee-are due to Messrs Gillespie, Naish, Malcolm and Lochhead for giving the use of their grounds at Rosebank to the club.

The following office-bearers were eleeted:--President, Dr Stenhouse; vicepresident, Mr Alan Bishop; secretary, Mr Thos. Pearson; captain, Mr W. S. Pennycook; committee, Messrs E. K. Grigor, H. Gunthorp and W. S. Pennycook, ' TJt« laiies' _<emmittw axe: Mjg yi^.

ing (convener), Miss Kicrnari (captain), Mrs Hislop, Misses Muir, Grant and Dallas.

It was decided to have the old Jinks put in order for the coming season, the committee to have same done before Easter if possible.

The committee went over'the links on Wednesday, and* have arranged the (alterations in the course made necessary by the flood.of last March. Several of the old holes had to be abandoned owing to silting up, but a. very fair course has been mapped out. Workmen are to go on immediately, and probably the course will be playable in a few weeks.
