SAD HATPIN ACCIDENT.
AUCKLAND, Fob. 21. A distressing aoeident, which hapix'iied at Mount Eden this morning resulted in a child losing tin- sijzlit of <me eye. The mother, who was getting ready to go out, was t alK>ut, to (nit on her hat. She had two hatpins in lie'' hand, and nob noticing tlu-m the child ran against, them and they entered an eye. Surgical aid was at once summoned, but the little sufferer's eye was vSo badlv injured that she has lost tho sight of it.
