PUERUA SHOW.

(From Our Owa Correspondent.) ' The Puerua annual show of flowers and produce was held in the hall on Friday night. The rail), though extremely welcome to the farmer,s, was undoubtedly the cause of a large num- 1 ber of exhibits not vomirig forwards The season has been anything but a good one from the start, the slugs in the spring-time were severe, and the weather conditions right up till now have beeiv erratic. Notwithstanding thisy the show was a very creditable exhibition. Cabbage and potatoes were exceptionally good, but fruit was conspicuous ontv by its absence. The flowers made a pleasing display, of which Mr Clark's (Lawrence) sv.eet peas (exhibited by Miss Dunn) wer worthy of special mention. The competitions were well patronised, the special prbes adding value to them. The tea tables under Mrs A. Shields and Mrs R. Logic ■" v. ell patronsed, and the lollie stall, in charge of Miss Shields, also did good business. The president (Mr A. G. McKenzio), and the secretary (Miss Millie Shields) attended to all details.
