SKELETON IN A FLAT.

STOLEN JEWELS ASD DYNAMITE. An aged Chicago diamond merchant, Mr J. H. Ivogue, lias been murdered in an atrocious manner in broad daylight in his office, which is situated in thf heart of the city (states the New York correspondent of the 'Daily Mail' on December 22). When an office bov returned to the office after luncheon on Friday he found that Mr Logue had been killed. An examination showed that the diamond merchant had been clubbed, chloroformed, gagged, burned with acid, shot and stabbed. Seventeen knife wounds were discovered. Acid had been poured into his eyes. H's skull was< fractured. His hands were* fastened behind his back with a stout rope, while a gag said to be part of a woman's silk skirt, was held in nositiort with safety pins.
